Admin Onboarding Checklist

Use during your first week as admin.

Week 1: Setup

  • Access your dashboard → Login and familiarize yourself with navigation
  • Review team → Go to Team → See who's already invited
  • Check settings → Settings → Review company info, plan, billing
  • Explore courses → Learning → Browse available courses
  • Read the guides → Bookmark the Admin Getting Started guide

First 30 Days: Building Your Program

  • Define your goal — Why are you using OpenSkills? (skill gaps? onboarding? retention?)
  • Audit your team — What skills does each role need? Where are gaps?
  • Select courses — Pick 5–10 foundational courses to start
  • Create first path — Design a learning path for your top priority skill
  • Invite team — Add employees: Team → Invite
  • Set up manager — Brief your manager on learning program
  • Track early usage — Check Analytics → see who's started courses

First 90 Days: Growing Adoption

  • Review completion rates — Check Analytics → identify courses people love
  • Create 3–5 paths — Paths for each major role or skill
  • Celebrate wins — Share employee certifications in announcements
  • Gather feedback — Email survey: "How's the learning going?"
  • Review ROI — Calculate value: skills gained, hours saved, impact
  • Plan next courses — Based on feedback, add new courses
  • Manager training — Teach managers how to support learning
  • Measure impact — Document completion rates, skill improvements
